* Provide student‑centred holistic advice * Deliver high quality service and outreach to students on campus and online * 3 fixed-term positions available ranging from 6-9 months’ duration, based in Hobart or Launceston  About the opportunity Our Student Advisers work in close collaboration with academic unit staff and Academic Success colleagues and are responsible for providing individual support and advice to students enrolled in courses within their designated discipline area. They provide input into communications and resource management for students, including implementation of support strategies for students identified as at-risk of disengaging with their studies.  They provide a warm and informative orientation to the physical, academic, and administrative environments within the university, to facilitate a successful transition; and support students’ ongoing study planning and academic progress with the aim of facilitating overall student success and retention. What you’ll do: * Support the seamless transition and progression of students from enrolment through to graduation. * Provide holistic advice and support to students from study related enquiries through to complex factors impacting on academic progress. * Provide ongoing enrolment advice and study plan management. * Assist with Academic Progress Review activities including development of Support Plans. * Develop and maintain resources for a diverse range of students to help them proactively manage their course and overall academic success. * Provide advice to both students and staff on the interpretation of University rules, ordinances, policies, systems access and procedures relating to student lifecycle activities.­ What we’re looking for: * A degree and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training in education, human services or a related field. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking and inquiry skills. * Ability to manage diverse tasks with sound judgement and prioritisation. * Demonstrated ability to work positively and constructively with students, diverse stakeholders and within a team. * Demonstrated ability to acquire an understanding of new and complex information, including University courses and course structures, processes and procedures. * Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
