School of Mechanical and Mining Engineering – Faculty of EAIT Full-time (100%), Permanent position Base salary will be in the range $83,776.44 - $93,121.41 + 17% super (HEW Level 5) Based at our St Lucia Campus - Brisbane About This Opportunity We are seeking a motivated and efficient Student and Academic Administration Officer to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the administrative functions of the School. Key responsibilities will include: Provide high-level administrative support to students, academic staff and professional colleagues within the School. Deliver timely and accurate advice in line with University policies, procedures and legislation. Act as the first point of contact for enquiries, resolving routine and complex matters. Process student administration including applications, extensions, deferred exams, enrolment and remarks. Support academic administration (course profiles, Blackboard updates, exams and grade processing). Coordinate meetings, projects and events, while maintaining systems, procedures and continuous improvement initiatives. About You An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training. Demonstrated experience providing high-quality administrative and customer service support in a high-volume environment. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in written work, as well as a high level of organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff and students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Strong working knowledge of student and academic administration processes, as well as relevant University policies and procedures, or the capacity to rapidly acquire this knowledge.
