JOB SUMMARY

The Sustainability and Asset Management Department at the City of Markham is actively working on innovative projects that will further enhance our internal processes and procedures. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Facility Assets, the successful candidates (seeking two positions for Fall 2025) will work closely with the relevant business units to review and analyze data, practices, procedures and policies with reference to best practices, applicable standards and legislations as it relates to project management within the Asset Management Department. This position will coordinate activities with business units across the Asset Management Department under the general direction of Sr. Manager, Facility Assets.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution in a relevant program
  • Interest in asset management, the construction of buildings, sustainability, data science or other related topics considered an asset
  • Strong organization, communication, multitasking, and leadership skills
  • Proactive, self-starter that can work well independently and with others
  • Flexibility to work occasional (rare) evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and video conferencing platforms
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Additional assets:
  • Hold a valid G Driver’s license
  • Ability to visit a variety of other City of Markham facilities
