Job Title: Student Assistant 2 - Summit County Department: FAES | Extension Area Leadership-JM This position is located in Summit County, Akron, OH. This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks. Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values. Support educational programming and community engagement in Summit County, Ohio. Student assistants will work directly with Extension professionals and staff who lead efforts to address community based issues. The interns will support 4-H Youth Development, and Agriculture & Natural Resources programs designed for youth and adult audiences. Specific duties in this area will match student interest and skills with an appropriate program area while supporting a diverse range of programs. Assist with educational materials and learn basic evaluation and research strategies within OSU Extension. Students will have the opportunity to assist with the design and implementation of a project based on their interest and county needs and may relate to any program area within OSU Extension. Participate in and support activities and meetings with OSU Extension professional staff in the county and beyond. Attend meetings and events with staff to learn more about OSU Extension in the county and surrounding counties.
