We are hiring a Student Assistant (15 hours/week) to support our Curricular Affairs team with multiple tasks related to communication with students and instructors, the development and proofing of information resources, quality assurance in the context of teaching materials, collection and input of data on courses and instructors, and other administrative tasks as required by the unit. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and continuous development of our academic programmes, in the context of a dynamic, international university.
The Curricular Affairs unit plays a pivotal role within the Hertie School and is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating courses and all other credit-bearing activities for the four Master’s degrees (Master of Public Policy, Master of International Affairs, Master of Data Science for Public Policy, and Executive Master of Public Administration).
Please note that due to the confidential nature of our work, Hertie students are not eligible for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Support students with regular queries concerning the requirements, structure, schedule, and enrolment procedure of curricular activities (courses, master’s thesis, internships, workshops). Support is to be provided in person, via email, and via videocall.
  • Support with course enrolment and related requests in the Campus Management System.
  • Development and quality control of information resources for students and instructors, including on the e-learning platform Moodle.
  • Quality management in the context of teaching, particularly course syllabi checking.
  • General course management in the Campus Management System.
  • Liaise with study exchange partner institutions and support outgoing and incoming exchange students.
  • Support the organisation of the EMPA Welcome Day and other student events and activities.
  • Organising and ordering catering for courses and other student events and activities.
  • Liaise with other units on matters concerning programme information, communication, and student and instructor support.
  • Communication with students and instructors on course matters.
  • Other administrative support activities as needed by the Curricular Affairs unit.
