Description

OUR PROFILE

The Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University stands for successful and forward-looking research in the field of production machines. The “Digital Process Chain and Data Analysis” group at the Chair of Machine Tools, led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christian Brecher, focuses on the integrative networking of real and digital systems along the product development process. The digitalization and networking of production machines enable the targeted aggregation of planning, process, and inspection information. Based on this data, manufacturing processes can be virtually mapped in a digital environment. This creates production transparency, which serves as a basis for efficient process design. Key challenges lie in data acquisition, contextualization, and analysis. To strengthen our team, we are looking for motivated students to support us in industrial and research projects. We offer our student assistants:

  • Interesting tasks in applied research and development
  • Participation in industrial and research projects
  • Opportunities for final theses
  • Flexible working hours
