Description:

Student Assistant for Sustainable Procurement
Are you passionate about sustainability and want to use your analytical skills to drive positive impact in global value chains? And do you want to learn how procurement plays an important role in our sustainability journey? Then you might be our new colleague in Hempel Group Procurement.
At Hempel, we have set ambitious targets for sustainability, not just in our own company, but in our entire value chain. In Group Procurement, sustainability already plays a key role in our supplier relationships. We engage closely with our suppliers, both on social and environmental sustainability. Only by collaborating can we build a better future and reach ambitious climate goals.
Do you want to help us build sustainable procurement for the future? Here’s what you can look forward to:

As a Student Assistant your role will be to help us make sure we deliver actionable insights through rigorous analysis and reporting. You will work both with our supplier engagement activities on decarbonization, including our in-depth environmental sustainability screening, as well as sustainability risk management.

  • Engage and support suppliers for sustainability assessments, including questionnaire evaluations and corrective actions
  • Analysis and reporting of supplier sustainability performance, developing internal reports and insights but also supplier scorecards
  • Be responsible for our annual Conflict Minerals process
  • Collecting product carbon footprint from suppliers
  • Ad-hoc tasks on sustainability in our upstream value chain

You will be joining a dedicated team of colleagues in the global Group Procurement team, but will work in close collaboration with our small Procurement Sustainability team in our headquarters in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark.

Do you take pride in strong analytics, spotless spreadsheets and bulletproof document trails? Here’s what we expect from you:

  • At your final year of bachelor or first year master degree studies
  • Knowledge about sustainability – preferably also in supply chains
  • Independent, structured and analytical
  • Strong Excel skills, including management of large data sheets, task automation using macros and advanced reporting using pivot tables. Power BI is a plus.
  • Good English communication skills – both written and oral
  • Great at team work – we are a small team and work closely together
  • Available to work in general 15-20 hours per week
