Student Assistant (16 hours/wk, 0.4 FTE)

The Leiden Learning and Innovation Centre (LLInC) Evaluation Service provides evaluations for the educational programmes within Leiden University and for a number of external clients. Through paper or digital course evaluations, this service contributes to monitoring and improving the quality of education. The Service is currently piloting a new Formative Evaluation of Teaching (FET) approach — an innovative method to support the continuous development of teaching quality. We are looking for a student assistant to take on a dual role, with strong responsibility in coordinating the FET pilot, and a supporting role in the regular Evaluation Service.
You will be part of the FET project team, working closely with colleagues and receiving guidance and coaching throughout. At the same time, we expect you to be proactive and able to work independently on assigned tasks.
The position is initially for six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and available resources.

Responsibilities

Primary: Support and Coordination of the FET Pilot

  • Coordinate and monitor the FET pilot.
  • Serve as the point of contact for participating teachers, answering questions and facilitating communication.
  • Ensure the timely preparation and distribution of FET evaluation forms and reports.
  • Gather structured feedback on the pilot evaluation by distributing questionnaires, keeping records of these and conducting focus groups with students and teachers.
  • Keep track of administrative records of all data in the pilot. This includes keeping track of what stage of the pilot each course is at, keeping SharePoint complete and up-to-date and preparing data for analysis by collecting it in excel en an organised manner.

Secondary: Administrative Support for Evaluation Service

  • Assist in the producing, printing and sending of regular evaluation forms.
  • Scan completed forms and generate reports using automated tools.
  • Keeping administrative records of the numbers of requested and completed evaluation forms.

Your profile

  • Leiden University Student.
  • A high degree of responsibility, initiative and critical thinking.
  • A very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently, while also contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Good command of Windows and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Strong command of the Dutch and English languages.
  • Experience with secretarial and administrative work is a plus.
