We are excited to be recruiting a dedicated and proactive Student Behaviour, Achievement and Support Officer to join our Student Services team. This is a vital role focused on promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that enables students to thrive both academically and personally.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

We are seeking a motivated individual who is passionate about student success and wellbeing. You will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to support students with empathy and authority.

You should have:

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Experience in behaviour support, safeguarding, or pastoral care
  • Confidence working with students, managing challenging situations, and building positive relationships
  • Strong administrative and communication skill
  • A flexible, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to equal opportunities and safeguarding
  • A full driving licence is essential
Responsibilities

As a Student Behaviour, Achievement and Support Officer, you will be a visible presence across the College, fostering positive behaviour and engagement among students. You will work closely with staff, safeguarding officers, and external agencies to address behavioural concerns, improve attendance, and support student welfare.

Your key duties will include:

  • Acting as a visible role model across college sites to promote positive conduct and student engagement
  • Supporting and coordinating student disciplinary processes, including administering panel hearings and collecting statements
  • Addressing low-level behaviour issues collaboratively with teaching and support staff
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including police and safeguarding partners
  • Monitoring student behaviour and contributing to the enforcement of college policies
  • Providing one-to-one mentoring and conducting classroom/home visits to support attendance and achievement
  • Collaborating with Attendance Officers and Programme Managers to improve learner outcomes
