THE OPPORTUNITY - STUDENT, CAMPUS RECREATION ASSISTANT (CLC) - PART-TIME, TEMPORARY

The CLC Fitness and Recreation Centre, a collaborative venture between Olds College and Chinook’s Edge School Division, caters to a diverse and dynamic clientele, encompassing both institutional partners and the wider community of Olds and its surrounding regions.
Currently the CLC Fitness and Recreation Centre is seeking enthusiastic, driven individuals to contribute to the seamless daily operations of the facility. This role primarily focuses on ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the fitness centre while providing a safe, engaging, and exceptional experience for all clients. Additionally, this position may support the execution of a broad spectrum of fitness or recreational programs and activities. This role reports directly to the CLC Fitness and Recreation Manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Six months experience in customer service, or program coordination would be considered an asset.
  • Successful candidates must be secondary or post-secondary students prior to and/or immediately following their work period.
  • The successful candidate must have current First Aid/CPR.
  • The incumbent must be comfortable with engaging the public and able to work early morning, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal, written, and active listening communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Critical thinker adept at solving problems, including in urgent or dynamic situations.
  • Displays strong attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed with precision, and accuracy.
  • Energetic, adaptable, and professional in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Makes decisions with our Community partners, stakeholders, and the sectors we serve in mind, demonstrating the value of relationship building.
  • Acts ethically, openly, honestly, and respectfully to build and maintain an environment of trust, safety, and well-being.
