Responsibilities

We are seeking a student casework investigator to join our Student Casework Team in the Academic Registry. This role supports the Senior Student Casework Manager to ensure that student casework is investigated fairly, thoroughly, and sensitively, maintaining the integrity of the University’s policies while protecting the rights and wellbeing of all parties involved. Through professional and trauma-informed investigations, the role helps create a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment where students can focus on their studies and personal development with confidence in the University’s commitment to addressing misconduct and resolving disputes effectively.
The role holder will also support the Senior Student Casework Manager in triaging and assigning new formal investigations, calculating the resources needed to complete the investigation effectively, and will develop the knowledge, capability and effectiveness of the Student Casework Investigation Officers.
The successful candidate will have significant experience conducting complex and sensitive complaint/disciplinary investigations in Higher Education or another industry, including interviewing and gathering evidence using trauma-informed approaches. They will also have experience or organising or leading a team, providing advice and coaching where required. They will possess excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce detailed, accurate reports and formal documentation. A strong understanding of procedural fairness, natural justice, and information governance is essential, alongside proven experience in interpreting and applying regulations and policies within a complex organisational setting.
This role is available for hybrid working with one/two days per week in the office.
This appointment is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.
