Job summary The Student Consultancy Project Assistants will work with a counterpart in GEES to support the establishment of this consultancy and adapt the Law model to the GEES context. The contract will be for a period of 13 weeks working between 4 and 8 hrs per week. We are seeking one research assistant from Law (total 40 hrs) and one from Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (total 60 hours) Main duties * researching comparable student consultancy projects in other HEIs which may inform our approach/practice; * conducting a literature review on interdisciplinary student consultancy projects and previous applications of this model in GEES; * adapting consultancy documentation such as student volunteer contracts, training materials, feedback forms, advice templates etc, from format currently used in Law to suit the GEES pilot; * supporting with the development of new training materials for UG GEES, as required; * liaison with potential external partners to explore appetite for student consultancy projects; * mapping of pilot model against the UNSDGs. * Conducting interviews with participants development of marketing materials to promote consultancy service. Required knowledge, skills, qualifications & experience Essential criteria: * Research Skills: Ability to carry out research independently, including conducting literature reviews, and synthesise findings clearly and accurately. Experience with conducting interviews. * Attention to Detail: Ability to review, adapt and quality‑check documents such as templates, training materials and feedback forms to ensure accuracy, clarity and suitability for the student consultancy project. * Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication. * Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, maintain orderly records, and work systematically under minimal supervision. * Digital Competency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 tools (Word, Teams, SharePoint) for compiling research, managing documents, and collaboratively developing project resources. Desirable: * Previous experience of working of volunteering on Law pro bono projects and/or legal advice clinics.
