Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the academic, career, personal, and social-emotional development needs of all students.
• Provide individual and small-group counseling sessions to support students with challenges such as academic planning, social skills, emotional regulation, and crisis intervention.
• Utilize a variety of strategies and resources, including assessments, observational data, and collaborative problem-solving, to identify student needs and monitor progress.
• Teach developmental guidance lessons in classrooms on topics such as bullying prevention, study skills, career exploration, and personal safety.
• Serve as a primary resource for students, teachers, and parents, providing guidance on issues affecting student learning and well-being.
• Maintain confidential and accurate records of counseling sessions, student progress, and safeguarding concerns in strict accordance with school policy and ethical standards.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, leadership, and external professionals to create and implement support plans for students, ensuring a holistic and coordinated approach.
• Lead the development and implementation of initiatives that promote a positive school climate, such as well-being weeks, peer mentoring programs, and parent workshops.
• Participate in child protection and safeguarding training and act as a designated safeguarding lead or team member, following all school protocols for reporting concerns.
• Communicate effectively and sensitively with parents and guardians to support student success and connect families with external resources when needed.
