Job Description: Study Abroad Counselor
Position Overview:
The Study Abroad Counselor is responsible for guiding students through the process of pursuing education opportunities overseas. This includes providing personalized counseling, assisting with applications, coordinating with universities, and addressing concerns to ensure a smooth and successful transition. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about international education systems, visa requirements, and cultural adaptation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Counseling:
Provide one-on-one counseling sessions to understand students’ academic goals, preferences, and career aspirations.
Recommend suitable universities, courses, and countries based on their profile and interests.
Address concerns regarding living abroad, cultural differences, and financial planning.
2. Application Assistance:
Assist students in preparing and submitting applications, essays, and supporting documents.
Ensure deadlines are met for university applications, scholarships, and visa submissions.
Guide students in creating a strong Statement of Purpose (SOP) and academic resumes.
3. Visa and Documentation Support:
Provide detailed guidance on visa processes, documentation, and requirements.
Assist with filling out visa forms, booking appointments, and preparing for visa interviews.
Stay updated on changes in immigration policies and communicate them effectively.
4. University Coordination:
Maintain relationships with international universities and educational institutions.
Facilitate communication between students and universities for admissions, scholarships, and inquiries.
Organize events such as university fairs and webinars.
5. Workshops and Seminars:
Conduct informational sessions on studying abroad, test preparation, and visa requirements.
Organize pre-departure orientations covering cultural adaptation, accommodation, and travel tips.
6. Marketing and Outreach:
Promote study abroad programs through digital platforms, email campaigns, and counseling events.
Develop brochures, presentations, and content to raise awareness about opportunities abroad.
Collaborate with schools, colleges, and career counselors to expand the student network.
7. Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate records of student interactions, applications, and progress.
Track deadlines, outcomes, and feedback to improve counseling services.
Report on program performance and student success stories.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience in study abroad counseling or education consultancy.
Knowledge of international education systems, entrance exams (IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, SAT, OET, etc), and visa processes.
Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.

Work Environment:
This role may involve occasional travel for workshops, university visits, and networking events. Flexibility and a passion for helping students achieve their goals are essential.
Salary Package:
5000 AED per month
