POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Study Abroad Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will guide students through the process of applying for study abroad programs, providing expert advice on destinations, programs, visa requirements, scholarships, and other necessary procedures. This position requires strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of global education systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Counseling and Guidance:

  • Provide one-on-one and group counseling to students interested in studying abroad.
  • Advise students on suitable programs, courses, and destinations based on their academic interests, career goals, and financial considerations.
  • Stay up to date with global educational trends, universities, and programs in order to provide accurate and helpful information.

Application and Documentation Support:

  • Assist students with the application process, ensuring all necessary documents (application forms, recommendation letters, transcripts, etc.) are submitted.
  • Help students with visa applications, travel arrangements, and accommodations.
  • Provide guidance on insurance, scholarships, and financial aid options.

Liaison and Partnerships:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with international universities, institutions, and partners.
  • Organize and attend meetings, workshops, and fairs to promote study abroad programs.
  • Negotiate and maintain partnerships with universities to secure better placements and opportunities for students.

Orientation and Pre-Departure Briefing:

  • Conduct pre-departure orientation sessions for students to ensure they are well-prepared for their time abroad.
  • Provide ongoing support and advice regarding cultural adaptation, travel logistics, and safety protocols.

Student Support:

  • Offer continuous support to students while they are abroad, including troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Act as a point of contact between the student and the hosting institution, ensuring clear communication throughout the study period.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student applications, counseling sessions, and progress.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as student placements, program success rates, and overall satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Relations, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in counseling or advising, preferably in study abroad, international education, or student services.
  • In-depth knowledge of international education systems and the global study abroad landscape.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM systems.
  • Fluency in [Additional Languages] is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in International Education or related field.
  • Experience living or studying abroad.
  • Knowledge of visa regulations, insurance requirements, and the logistics involved in studying abroad.
