Description:
Center for Humanities Computing (CHC) has openings for student data scientists to work in research projects and support (8 hrs./week). CHC is a research and development unit at Aarhus University that collaborates with researchers from arts and humanities (Faculty of Arts) at Aarhus University. As a student data scientist in CHC, your job responsibilities include writing well-developed and testable code using the software development practices of CHC, working with stakeholders to develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to their research data, developing processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Student data scientists are expected to participate in CHC’s common activities when they are related to their project(-s) specifically. Participation in other activities is optional.
The employment will commence March 3rd 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter, and end when the candidate graduates.
Qualifications:
Applicants must:
- have experience with Linux and Linux terminal
- be able to write scripts in Python and bash
- have a basic understanding of Git
- be open and ask a lot of questions because there will be a bit of a learning curve
Furthermore, it will be considered an advantage if applicants have:
- experience with CUDA, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
- interest in NLP or Computer Vision
