Job Description RESPEC has an opening for a civil engineering intern in the Water Division in the Fairbanks, AK office. The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer. This position involves work tasks that support planning, design, and construction of various water and wastewater engineering projects generally for public agencies and municipalities. Interdisciplinary work with other engineering disciplines as well as survey staff is also anticipated. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced engineering staff in our Water Division. Qualifications Required: Pursuing a bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with interest in water and wastewater Excellent written and verbal communication skills Attention to detail and willingness to ask questions and learn in a professional consulting environment Willing to travel within the borough for various construction activity support and work outside in varying weather conditions Ability to contribute and work well on a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook) Knowledge/experience in AutoCAD (or similar software) and/or GIS Strong problem-solving and math skills Additional Information Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience, range is $21-$26 DOEQ; plus statutory insurance requirements.
