RMU Football is looking for outgoing and qualified candidates who would like the opportunity to be actively involved in RMU Football and its various programs on a first hand basis. The student equipment /coaching support assistant is responsible for planning, coordinating the operations of all equipment needed for effective practices and game day needs for the football program. The Equipment /Coaching support assistants position reports to the Head Equipment Manager and or Supervisor with all equipment needs for the (players, coaching and support staff) and with weekly practices and game day need which may include but not limited to: unpacking gear, folding, giving out and washing practice and game day gear/uniforms for the entire team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual must be a student at RMU working towards a degree with one or more years of related experience. A background in football and/or experience playing/working on a team of any sport in high school is preferred but not required. The ability to communicate effectively, to move heavy objects and perform other physical tasks associated with athletic equipment rooms, to develop and maintain effective working relationships, and to recognize different functions of equipment as used for each sport.

Maintains the equipment by bringing it all out on the field and putting everything away before and after each practice 3. Prepares each piece of equipment (bags, cones, footballs, etc.) needed for each coaches site on the field before practice 4. Alerts the Head Equipment manager of any needed repairs, required maintenance or replacement of faulty equipment. 5. May use small tools and supplies needed to fix or replace certain items of equipment (helmets, shoulder pads, etc.) during practice or game day 6. Issue gear in accordance with Equipment room policy and the inventory/ accounting system. 7. Provides equipment manager with a daily analysis of how practice went and if any additional equipment are needed. 8. Inspects equipment on a regular basis to comply with Team/NCAA safety policies. 9. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
