OPPORTUNITY

MacEwan University is seeking a Student Life Assistant for a casual opportunity with a passion for student engagement and extra-curricular activities with our Student Life department. In this role, you will represent the Student Experience Record and its programs for MacEwan students at on-campus events and activities. The Student Experience Record Portal (on MacEwanLife) is an engagement tool where students can discover new opportunities that promote the development of career ready competencies and track their participation on an official MacEwan University document. You will assist with student engagement initiatives, data entry, and student volunteer opportunities with a focus on communications and promotion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and presenting student training and information sessions to educate students about the Student Experience Record;
  • Maintaining communication strategies with students through digital platforms;
  • Promoting the Student Experience Record to increase engagement;
  • Providing administrative support to student engagement initiatives such as data entry, email correspondence, and efficient organization of Student Experience Records data; and
  • Assisting with the creation of promotional materials such as posters, information sheets, and social media posts.

SKILLS

You will have:

  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently;
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking skills;
  • Leadership and professionalism; and
  • Proficiency operating Microsoft Office Suite including Google applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Current enrollment in a full-time program at MacEwan University taking a minimum of 9 credits.
  • Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.70 GPA.
  • Experience with key social media platforms (Discord, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter).
  • Experience as a MacEwan student leader is beneficial.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
