Job Description This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of college grounds and working on a variety of maintenance projects. The incumbent will be expected to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, operate tools and equipment and contribute to a positive and safe work environment at all times. > Start date: April 27th > > End date: August 28th > > Location: On-site, Red Deer Polytechnic Job Duties Landscaper duties include: * Maintaining college grounds * Working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions * Mowing lawns, planting, weeding, watering and pruning plants as directed * Controlling insects and disease as directed * Picking up litter * Contributing to a positive and safe work environment at all times * Installing items with power tools * Painting and completing other minor maintenance projects as requested Required Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent * Valid driver's license * Strong work ethic, attendance record and productivity in an independent work environment (demonstrated through previous employment or volunteer experience) * Strong customer service, teamwork and communication skills * Ability to perform basic labouring activities, including heavy lifting and exert frequent physical effort Preferred Qualifications * Ride-on mower experience is an asset * Experience with power tools, gas powered mowers, tiller, electric clippers, edgers and weed trims is preferred
