The City of Helsinki’s Urban Research and Statistics Unit is looking for an English-speaking intern for a three-month internship between September and December 2025 (exact dates to be agreed with the selected candidate). The position is meant for a person whose native language is not Finnish or Swedish.
The Urban Research and Statistics Unit operates under the Strategy Division of the City Executive Office and serves as the central hub for strategic research and analysis, supporting city leadership and departments in data-driven decision-making.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow as part of our team. While your academic background doesn’t need to be a perfect match, studies in fields like social sciences, urban studies, geography, economics, or statistics are a plus.

As an intern, you will join our team and contribute to ongoing research projects and data management tasks. Your specific responsibilities will be tailored to your interests, skills, and previous experience. You will collaborate closely with other researchers and specialists, and gain insight into the city’s strategy, its implementation, and follow-up processes.
