POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Roads, performs general labourer duties as assigned. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs general labourer duties assigned in area of work. Performs general labour duties on asphalt crew and concrete crew. Assists with painting lines on roads. QUALIFICATIONS: Skills & Abilities: Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English Must be highly motivated and work well in a team environment Must be able to work with minimal supervision Must possess superior customer service skills Must possess and maintain a valid Class “G” Ontario Drivers Licence, or equivalent Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the Corporation Physical Demands: This position requires constant standing/walking; frequent squatting/kneeling, and lifting Must be able to drive a ½ ton truck as required CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must remain a competent driver as defined by the Corporation May be required to provide a successful driver’s abstract General Information: As an equal opportunity employer, the City of Thunder Bay encourages applications from Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minority groups and women.
