Student Leadership Consultant (SLC) – Social Media and Marketing Specialist Department (Org): Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life Position Description: Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) Student Leadership Consultants (SLC) are specialized student staff that provide essential support in achieving the operational goals and mission of Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. The FSL SLC Social Media & Marketing Specialist is promoting the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, the governing councils, and the 26 chapters associated with the community. This position develops engaging and authentic content to ensure prospective students, potential new members, and current members are informed about programs, events, services, resources, and support. Required Qualifications: • Full-time Butler University undergraduate or graduate student (preferably 1st - 3rd year, but not required) with a minimum 2.5 GPA and not on conduct probation • Familiarity with social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok • Basic photo/video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools) • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team • Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to fast-moving content needs. • Knowledge about the fraternity and sorority community at Butler   Preferred Qualifications: • Majoring or minoring in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related field • Member of a social fraternity or sorority • Prior social media management experience • Experience working with diverse populations • Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience   Position Responsibilities: • Social Media (50%) -Capture photo and video content of Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, executive council, and chapter programs, events, resources, and support -Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling content for Instagram Post, Reels, Stories and TikToks -Edit photos and videos for social media and digital - Track and analyze the effectiveness of social media campaigns and promotional efforts. •Department Communication (40%) -Assist Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life with the creation of monthly newsletter (called the Ruff Draft) content and submission -Assist Council Officers with designing and developing creative promotional materials including but not limited flyers, booklets, mailers, etc. • Other Duties (10%) -Support on-campus marketing efforts such as event coverage, tabling, and outreach initiatives as needed. - Brief report to the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life every week with updates, positives, and challenges in a 30 minute in-person meeting. • All applicants will be contacted by the hiring manager within two weeks of applying   Annual Performance Reviews: Performance reviews and evaluations are given annually for student employees. The process includes both a 30-minute review and written evaluation. Reviews are used as a professional development tool, to determine raises, to provide information for references, and can help determine corrective action regarding performance. Performance evaluations are one of the processes of supervision and are not intended to replace feedback received during ongoing conversations or the disciplinary process.   Work Schedule: 6-10 hours/week, hybrid Desired Length of Employment: Beginning of September to Beginning of December Mid-January to Mid-April Pay Rate: 10.00
