Description Job Summary: The Student Nurse Career Navigator supports the stabilization and growth of Emory Healthcare's nursing workforce through proactive, data-driven pipeline development. This role builds and maintains strong relationships with academic partners and internal stakeholders to support student engagement, workforce readiness, and successful transition into practice. In collaboration with Talent Acquisition (TA), Human Resources (HR), and nursing leadership, the Navigator coordinates student-focused workforce initiatives, including clinical scholar and pipeline programs, recruitment activities, and conversion-to-hire tracking. The role serves as a primary student resource and mentor, driving a coordinated transition from education to employment and long-term career progression within the health system. The Navigator collects and analyzes workforce pipeline data to evaluate program effectiveness, inform targeted recruitment strategies, and support high-need clinical areas (e.g., high turnover, growth units, low engagement cohorts). The position also partners with academic institutions and internal communications to enhance student engagement and promote nursing career pathways across Emory Healthcare (EHC). Primary duties and responsibilities: Collaboration & Program Coordination 1.Support development and implementation of clinical workforce pipeline programs aligned with EHC workforce strategy. 2.Partners with Talent Acquisition, workforce boards, community organizations, and schools to recruit and engage students. 3.Serve as a resource to nursing leaders, hiring managers, and team members regarding workforce development programs. 4.Provide career navigation support, educational sessions, and individualized guidance to students. 5.Develop and maintain student-facing resources to support career progression. 6.Assist in organizing recruitment events, career fairs, and workforce engagement activities. 7.Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to promote workforce development programs. Data, Alignment & Program Evaluation 1.Align workforce development initiatives with nursing, HR, and talent management. 2.Utilize workforce data (e.g., vacancy, turnover, growth projections, critical staffing needs) to inform pipeline priorities and academic alignment. 3.Track and report program metrics, including student engagement, enrollment, partnerships, and conversion-to-hire outcomes. 4.Support leaders in aligning programs with funding and compliance requirements. 5.Assist in development and evaluation of education and career pathways across EHC/academic institutions. Academic & External Partnerships 1.Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions to support workforce pipeline goals. 2.Serve as liaison for student advising, application coordination, and partnership activities. 3.Facilitate employee navigation of academic programs and vendor resources. 4.Coordinate on-site engagement opportunities with academic and external partners. Additional Duties as Assigned. Travel: 30-40% and as needed Work Type: Primarily onsite Minimum Required Qualifications: Education - Bachelor of science in nursing Experience - 7 years' experience in nursing education, professional development, nursing related experience Licensure - Currently licensed as RN in the State of GA or hold a privilege to practice in the State of GA under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Knowledge, skills, and abilities (required): - Ability to execute and manage multiple programs at one time. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and the public. Ability to think abstractly and analytically; knowledge of organizational staffing in either a hospital or university setting and broad understanding of human resource principles is highly desirable. Previous experience with designing and communicating programs and initiatives is also highly desirable. Proficient with various personal computer software applications including word processing, database management, and/or spreadsheet. Preferred Qualifications Education - Master's degree preferably in Nursing Education, Health Administration, or related field. Experience - 5 years in academic/university setting or recruitment Knowledge, skills, and ability requirements (preferred): - Should have excel skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs., 0-33% of the work day (occasionally) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
