Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000/yr
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Support & Outreach Services Coordinator plays an integral role in ensuring the academic success, well-being, and holistic development of VCCTs diverse student population. As a central member of the Student Services team, this role is responsible for coordinating individualized student support, building strategic community partnerships, and leading initiatives that enhance student engagement and retention. This position also contributes to the development of inclusive student programming and plays a key role in implementing institutional student success strategies.
STUDENT SUPPORT & RETENTION
- Serve as the first point of contact for students seeking academic guidance, wellness support, accessibility accommodations, or personal referrals.
- Provide proactive outreach and case management for students flagged as at-risk by instructors, administrative staff, or self-identified.
- Offer one-on-one support and coaching to help students navigate academic, emotional, and social challenges.
- Liaise with faculty, administration, and external partners to create and monitor individualized student support plans.
- Coordinate and facilitate student wellness initiatives, educational workshops, peer-led programs, and community-building activities.
- Maintain confidential student records in accordance with institutional privacy protocols and provincial regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Student Affairs, Education, or a related human services field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in student services, outreach, case management, or student engagement within a post-secondary or non-profit setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health supports, crisis intervention strategies, and culturally responsive care.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a compassionate and inclusive approach to student support.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
- Highly organized with strong administrative, time management, and digital record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information systems and virtual learning environments (e.g., Canvas) is an asset.
