About the role We’re offering two (2) Student Project Officer positions, shared across four (4) students under a 12 months Part Time arrangement within the Environment & Sustainability Business Unit. As a Student Project Officer, you will contribute to real projects that help support Parramatta's environment and sustainability goals and catchment engineering work. You will work 2 - 3 days per week in either our Catchment Management or Natural Areas teams — perfect for students wanting real - world experience in environmental science, sustainability, ecology, or engineering. On a daily basis you will: Environmental Science Stream Support environmental sustainability and natural areas initiatives Assist with research, data analysis, and preparing written reports Help deliver strategic environmental and natural area projects Catchment Engineering Stream Assist with flood, drainage, and catchment engineering projects Support data collection, analysis, and technical project tasks Provide project administration for the Catchment Management team Across both streams, you will also contribute to general administration, project coordination, communication with internal and external stakeholders, and producing high‑quality written work. About You The successful candidate should have previous experience with working on environmental sustainability or ecological projects, and have excellent written communication and presentation skills, including report writing. You’re a motivated student who wants practical experience in your field. You are someone who can work well within a team but also take initiative when needed. To be eligible for this role you must be a current student (preferably final year or second last final year) of University, TAFE or equivalent in the qualification listed below: Qualifications / Licences requirements: Environmental Science Stream Science, environmental sustainability, natural resources or similar field. Catchment Engineering Stream Science, civil or environmental engineering or similar field Current NSW Class C Driver Licence. What’s on offer We have 4 part time opportunities for a 12 months Term Contract. We are offering an attractive remuneration from $73,172.60 (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation.
