If you’re a committed team player, we would love to have you as part of our team.  Reporting to the Quality Performance & Co-Manufacturers Manager, the Student (Quality Performance) – 4 month contract will be responsible for focusing on projects performed by Quality Performance (including Shelf-life verification). The Student (Quality Performance) will be involved in several quality-related projects, with a focus on meat quality as well as other tasks in the QA department, including laboratory activities when help is needed. This is an existing position in the company  Shift: Mon - Fri - 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (Fully on-site) What's in it for you? * Weekly pay * Onsite Cafeteria * Discount at our Chicken Shop * Opportunities for career advancement * A culture that values humility, respect for family and hard work What you will be doing: * Contribute to several steps in quality-related projects, including data collection and analysis at the plant. * Assist in performing meat quality analysis (e.g., pH, colour, drip loss, cooking loss, and texture) in the plant and at the internal lab. * Participate in other projects based on business needs. * Perform Co-Manufactured product review – packaging and product evaluations. * Assist with data entry and basic graphing to track Critical to Quality Attributes. * Provide Lab assistance and coordination of shelf-life samples for sensory analysis and microbiological testing. * Assist in complaint investigation. * Policies, Processes & Procedures - Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures. Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner What you will bring: * No previous experience is required; * Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.; * Some experience in statistical analysis is preferred. * Ability to lift 30 lbs and be able to work with raw and cooked poultry products. * General Computer Skills (e.g. MS Office) inclusive of working with medium datasets. * Education and Certification Requirements - Enrolled in a Post Secondary education program. Additional Education Requirements including Licenses required; Trade or Professional Certifications. Maple Lodge Farms was established in 1955.
