JOB SUMMARY

The School of Social work is seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Student Records Evaluator to provide meticulous student record and enrollment maintenance, degree audit clearance, and administrative support to the School of Social Work’s Registrar’s Office.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in higher education
  • Experience in data entry and record-keeping
  • Must be proficient with Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to pay strict attention to detail, be well organized, an ability to concentrate and focus on multiple tasks at one time with numerous interruptions, and able to meet deadlines
  • Must possess professional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well under pressure with faculty, students, and staff; must possess demonstrated cooperation, flexibility, and a teamwork attitude and must be able to accept feedback and ask questions in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information
  • Must be adaptable; supportive of and participate in, change initiatives to improve service, efficiencies and/or productivity
  • Demonstrated interest in and capability for learning new software applications
  • Experience working with a supervisor and in a team environment and the ability and desire to work autonomously and take appropriate initiative

A successful candidate will have a high-level working knowledge and demonstrate experience with:

  • Student information systems and preferably FileMaker Pro or other analogousdatabase programs, including formatting and utilizing data pulls as necessary.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel, as well as AdobeAcrobat, Google docs, sheets, and drive

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

Demonstrated working knowledge of:

  • Wolverine Access and MPathways, specifically Student Administration
  • University of Michigan’s student career, program, and plan setup and organization
  • UM’s curriculum set-up and functionality
  • Business Objects and UM’s Data Warehouse; query-building and data review
  • FileMaker Pro or similar database programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of FERPA
Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this role will provide careful review and analysis of transcripts for determining academic credit and degree eligibility for various School of Social Work academic programs. This position will be the lead evaluator on the new Masters in Social Impact Leadership program at the School of Social Work. The Evaluator will stay abreast of all requirements and any changes to the MA degree and will ensure that these updates are processed within internal systems, on any resources, and on the degree audit advisement report, accordingly.
This position will also largely provide general data, academic records, and administrative enrollment support for all SSW academic programs and will frequently work with the university registrar’s offices.
As needed, this position will provide more general administrative support to the SSW Registrar’s Office as well.
