EDUCATION:
High school diploma. Must be enrolled and registered as a full-time student in a degree program at York University. Applicants for Keele campus must possess a valid Ontario ‘G’, or ‘G2’ class license in good standing. applicants with the full ‘G’ license are primarily preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience and/or community-related volunteer service experience is preferred.

The Student Safety Official acts as a community ambassador to students, faculty, staff, and guests of York University. Student Safety Officials are customer service and community oriented. Staff conduct nightly audits of campus lighting, campus phones, and Automatic Door Openers (ADOs). During operational hours, Student Safety Officials provide general information and directions, as needed by community members. they provide information about resources available to the community through goSAFE and other service providers at the University. Upon request, Student Safety Officials also accompany customers, on foot, or by golf cart (please note: golf cart use is restricted to Keele campus), to, and from, any on campus destination. Student Safety Officials may have access to, or come in contact with, confidential information which may include, but is not limited to: Personal information about employees, students, and other members of the University. Any other information relating to York University’s business or activities, deemed confidential or proprietary by York University.
