Securities Operations & Pricing owns and supports security master origination of publicly traded assets, reference data management, level one price validations, and is responsible for the data quality from various data vendor feeds. Leveraging your unique combination of technical and financial skillsets, you contribute to the team’s success by actively engaging in activities to identify and resolve data issues, and by providing oversight for complex and administrative operational control functions to ensure that investment data is clean and accurate. Responsibilities: Using Excel, perform analysis of data, identify anomalies and trends, and report on results to different end-users and business groups. Review and document processes for undocumented activities. Learn and perform daily required activities such as ID maintenance, report processing, data integrity and enrichment activities. Assist in the testing and development pipeline for new processes, products, and strategies in coordination with subject matter experts. Our Ideal Candidate: Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related. Advanced Excel skills: examples include VBA macros, pivot tables, Power Query. Ability to assess complex issues and develop well communicated solutions to a mix of end-users with varying technical capabilities. Generates creative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities, makes sound decisions after reviewing all relevant information, takes calculated risks and recognizes the impact of solutions. Superior organizational skills with attention to detail to handle high volumes while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and complying with stated controls. Ability to use a collaborative approach to achieve goals and produce results with internal and external clients. Independent learner with ability to think beyond basic concepts, resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python are considered an asset. Success Measures: As the successful Student, Securities Operations & Pricing, you will learn about the functions of a high performing team and will assist the team in delivering on their objectives. Playing an important role, your contributions will include will components of daily operational work and helping the team in critical project work and suggesting ways to improve effectiveness. At the end of the term, you will have exposure to AIMCo’s operational workflow and gain an understanding of the importance of clean data. You will learn about security and reference data setups and gain an understanding of the importance of clean and reliable data.
