JOB SUMMARY

The Program in Biophysics at the University of Michigan seeks a highly motivated, professional, and dynamic Student Services Coordinator to manage our undergraduate and graduate programs. This role is crucial in recruiting prospective students, overseeing admissions, providing academic advising, and developing student programming initiatives. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of work and educational experience.
  • 4 or more years of administrative experience in an academic setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in student advising and coaching.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A self-starter who works independently and in teams, managing multiple tasks and deadlines while promoting respect and cooperation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • At least 2-3 years of student services experience in a higher education setting, including working with faculty and international students.
  • Previous academic advising experience in higher education
  • Knowledge of University, LSA, and Rackham policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and experience of PhD funding and processing, and the student financial aid system.
  • Experience with connecting students with campus resources in a confidential setting.
  • Proficiency with Wolverine Access, Business Objects, MReports, MPathways Student Administration, and various LSA Systems, including MRS, Student Advising File, Blue, and Course Maintenance.
