STUDENT SERVICES TRAINING COORDINATOR DESCRIPTION

South College is seeking applicants for the Student Services Training Coordinator role. The Training Coordinator supports the recruitment, onboarding, and training of Student Success Advisors (SSAs) and Student Success Mentors (SSMs). This role is responsible for coordinating initial phone screenings, supporting the hiring process, and facilitating foundational and ongoing training for new team members.
The key function of this position is to help ensure consistency in onboarding, reinforce policy and compliance standards, and foster staff development through engaging, learner-centered training sessions. This role works to ensure alignment with departmental training objectives and institutional policies.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in education, higher education, communications, or related field.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Prior experience in academic advising, training, or student services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present information clearly and engage learners in virtual and in-person settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, SharePoint, and learning management systems.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback to support continuous improvement.
