Job Summary: Student Success Coordinators at Belmont Charter Network Schools must have a strong sense of self and an innovative approach to healing and counseling students who face daily challenges. The SSC is positioned to provide individual and school-wide services that directly impact classroom instruction, behavior management, student safety, and overall growth. This position entails working closely with students, parents, and educators to address academic, personal/social, and career development goals and needs by designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive school counseling program that focuses on the five school counseling domains. Belmont Charter Network is a collaborative effort between the prevention and family support department and the multitiered system of supports to create an environment promoting student achievement, active engagement, and equitable access to educational opportunities for all students. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Collaborate with FSS to design and align a comprehensive, developmental guidance and counseling program that includes Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support components that meet BCN educational goals and objectives. Conduct short-term individual and group counseling for students experiencing academic, behavioral, emotional, and social challenges. Mediate and resolve student conflicts Support FSS with coordination and implementation of educational programming to address Peer Pressure, Healthy Choices, Positive Self Image, Bullying, Sexual education, Conflict Resolution, Drug and Alcohol Education, Violence Prevention, Suicide prevention, and other age-appropriate topics. Assist students with creating, implementing, and monitoring academic and behavior plans. Consults with school personnel, parents, and other team members to promote student development, individual behavior and increase the effectiveness of student education to promote student success. Review standardized test results and other assessment data to guide students in individual goal setting and planning with guidance from FSS. Complete written documentation of student services, student educations effectiveness, progress notes, and monthly data collection reports. Assist FSS, school administrators and educators with planning and carrying out school-related programs and events. Analyze student performance in the classroom to provide guidance and identify potential challenges that hinder academic achievement. Manage student transitions regarding grade promotion. Qualifications Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. Licensed Professional Counselor Preferred. Knowledge of child development, childhood mental health, and special education services, classifications, and procedures. The minimum experience between 2-3 years providing services to children and families, case management; child and family mental health interventions; child behaviors; and group facilitation in schools. Thorough understanding of barriers to student learning and the use of counseling strategies to eliminate those barriers Position requires working independently, organizing tasks, problem-solving, making decisions, and handling multiple priorities. Promotes and follows ethical standards for school counselors. Uses professional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Adheres to state and network regulations and procedures. Understanding of the organizational structure and elements of a successful school counseling program, in alignment with the ASCA National Model
