We are seeking a Student Success Coordinator to join our team, working collaboratively to enhance educational services, student engagement, and community relationships.
Under the direction of the School Principal, the Student Success Coordinator provides culturally informed support, coordination, and advocacy for students. This role involves promoting enrolment, attendance, student achievement, and program completion through collaboration with school staff, parents, and external stakeholders. The Student Success Coordinator will also engage in community relations activities, working with school districts, families, and Indigenous organizations to foster strong connections, raise awareness of school programs, and support student access to learning opportunities and success in education.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A certificate or undergraduate degree in a field such as First Nations Studies, Education, Social Work, Community Development, or related field. We also recognize and value cultural knowledge and experience gained through other forms of education and training, including teachings from Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
  • At least 3 years of related experience working within First Nations communities, with a strong understanding of Indigenous traditions, culture, and contemporary community concerns.
  • Proven ability to build trusting relationships with First Nations students, families, and communities.
  • Strong knowledge of elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education systems in British Columbia.
  • Skilled in having critical and culturally sensitive conversations with students and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural environments and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Highly flexible and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
