THE TEAM
The post is based within the Student Success and Engagement Team (SSET). SSET was created to design and deliver proactive support through key student lifecycle events and by responding to institutional student data. We are passionate and creative about proactive support for all students. We work closely with other support services at Hallam and ensure the promotion of a joined-up support offer to students starts pre-arrival to the University.
This role will work closely with other members of the team to deliver an excellent experience for our students. SSET sits within the Student Success department.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
Find out more about the LGPS
Each year you will earn a secure pension benefit of 1/49th of your salary and the University will pay pension contributions towards the cost of this pension (currently worth about 22% of your salary). For a starting salary of £25,000, for example, the University would pay just over £5,400 in the first year of your employment and you would earn a pension of £510 p.a. for that year (payable from your State Pension Age).
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the LGPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
Sheffield Hallam welcomes applications from all candidates irrespective of age, pregnancy and maternity, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, race, religion or belief, or marital or civil partnership status.
The role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route so if you are an international applicant, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
This role provides effective and efficient administration of a range of processes, projects, and initiatives from across the student lifecycle, to support student success including pre-entry support, Hallam Welcome, engagement monitoring, retention, progression, and continuation.
We are looking for candidates who will work collaboratively to deliver and develop a multidisciplinary, inclusive, and responsive service, to ensure a positive student experience and effectively responding to student diversity.
