JOB SUMMARY
Purdue University is seeking a compassionate Student Support Specialist to serve as a vital resource, advocate, and referral agent for students impacted by sexual assault, stalking, and relationship violence. In this role, you will empower individuals by providing clear, timely information and facilitating access to confidential resources, enabling students to make informed decisions that best meet their unique needs. You will coordinate campus and community support systems to help students navigate these sensitive experiences, offering crisis response, individual and community-based interventions, and advocacy throughout the criminal justice and campus judicial processes.
You will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Title IX, and the Clery Act, while collaborating closely with campus and community partners to deliver comprehensive support tailored to survivors’ needs. Your dedication will help foster a safer, more informed, and responsive campus environment where students can find the support they need to heal and thrive.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Required:
Two (2) years of experience in human services or a related field (such as social work, health education, public health, psychology, or criminal justice)An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
Preferred:
Master’s or advanced degree.Experience with domestic violence or sexual assault victim advocacy services, preferably in a higher education setting.
