To help realize this vision, Georgia Tech has created a new unit, Georgia Tech Arts, which resides within the Office of the Provost, integrating the staff from the Office of the Arts including the Ferst Center for the Arts and the Office of the Associate Vice Provost for the Arts into a single reporting structure.

GT Arts is seeking a Student Engagement Specialist to be the primary point-of-contact for students interested in engaging with the arts on campus. The Student Engagement Specialist will report to the Associate Vice Provost for the Arts. This role oversees grant programs for students, mentors students working on co-curricular arts projects, engages with student leaders of arts groups on campus, and connects students to arts opportunities both academic and co-curricular on campus and beyond.
The individual in this role will be focused on empowering students to make, share, and experience creative work, especially at the intersection of arts, technology, and innovation. This role will require a person to establish and maintain respectful, collaborative working relationships across campus and with the broader Atlanta arts community; to communicate strategically and effectively to a range of campus audiences; and to take initiative, multitask, and prioritize projects while working in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. Experience in and knowledge of arts practice, community engagement, creative entrepreneurship, and frameworks for arts critique are highly desirable, particularly in the context of higher education. Work at the intersection of the arts and community and/or the arts and technology is especially valuable.
JOB SUMMARY
The Student Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical, administrative, and logistical support to ensure that student programs, services, and initiatives are delivered effectively. This role also aims to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive campus environment by assisting with program operations, engaging in student outreach, and maintaining essential support systems.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
