Do you have a passion for supporting the welfare and safeguarding of young people? Are you motivated to help others overcome challenges and succeed? Bath College is looking for a dedicated student welfare officer to join our team, providing essential support to vulnerable learners across both of our campuses.
This role is essential in supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSL, in fulfilling the College’s statutory responsibilities to safeguard learners. The post holder will act as one of the welfare officers, serving as a first point of contact for safeguarding disclosures. They will ensure immediate and effective responses to any safeguarding concerns, contributing to the safety and wellbeing of students at the College.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at grade C or above.
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft office
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of safeguarding and mentoring
Demonstrate knowledge of support mechanisms, organisations and the support they offer e.g. housing and social services.
Demonstrate experience of successfully working with young people and adults in an advisory role, supporting them to identify goals and achieve their ambitions.
Demonstrate experience of working within a team, working flexibly with multiple partners both internal and external
