Description
Provide mechanical design support across high voltage hardware mechanical design team's portfolio of novel products for Ford's new upcoming EV platform. Complete mechanical design in CATIA 3DX of mechanical fixture to support DV testing Assist with process development and manufacturing instructions creation, test instruction creation for module level pedigree and vehicle level assembly. Own design and execution of experiments to quickly validate ideas, concepts to enable production level implementation. Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, testing, manufacturing, and quality teams, to ensure that designs encompass DFX principles and meet quality standards. Coach and guide suppliers to execute tests to our test plan Intake, process, and present data in an organized and concise fashion to recommend next steps. Develop engineering prototypes using rapid prototyping processes and coordinate building and testing for functionality and performance. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Strong engineering fundamentals, and ability to apply broadly to vehicle systems and manufacturing processes. Previous relevant internship, school team, or lab work experience designing, developing, and releasing electro-mechanical components and systems for volume production. Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, materials, and tool design (die casting, injection moulding, sheet metal forming, CNC machining, etc) High level of expertise and proficiency with Catia, Enovia, or similar tools. High attention to detail ensuring organization, accuracy, and quality of design work. An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team.
