CHAMINADE UNIVERSITY OF HONOLULU     I. Position Information Title: Office Assistant  Department: Enrollment Management and Student Success (primarily Financial Aid) Part Time Non-Exempt   II. Position Summary Office Support (80%) * Represent Chaminade University in a professional and friendly manner * Execute data entry * Provide front office support * Greet persons entering the office determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort the visitors to specific destinations. * Operate campus telephone lines to answer, screen, or forward calls, this includes: providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments. * Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries * Maintain storage areas * Be service orientated by actively looking for ways to help staff and visitors Event Management (10%) * Assist with events and campus visits such as Silversword Preview Day, Admitted Student Day, New Student Orientation, Apo Haumana, open houses, and organization fairs * Escort individuals or groups around campus, on campus tours, or through places of interest. Any Other Duties (10%)   III. Education and Experience Minimum Must be a currently enrolled Chaminade Student   V. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities  * Ability to relate well with different people in a variety of situations * Excellent communication skills * Ability to use computers and basic programs (campus database, e-mail, Microsoft Office, internet etc.) * Ability to be self-motivated and self-managed to meet deadlines * Ability to plan and execute duties with attention to detail * Knowledgeable about basic university policies in the areas of housing, financial aid, parking, and academic programs * Have critical thinking ability by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. * Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and other staff by telephone, in written form, email, or in person. VI. Physical Requirements Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.   VII. Other Requirements * Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor * Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. * Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner * Educate & demonstrate basic life skills for residents   VIII.
