Conduct simulations to analyze and optimize the thermal performance of HVAC, coolant, and heat pump systems. Support bench testing activities, including instrumentation setup, data acquisition, and analysis of experimental results. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate thermal management solutions into vehicle designs. Assist in documenting simulation methodologies, test procedures, and results. Participate in design reviews and contribute to problem-solving efforts related to thermal performance. Pursuit of a Bachelor's, Master's, or doctorate degree in mechanical engineering with a focus in thermal sciences. Strong foundational knowledge in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. Basic understanding of experimental methods, instrumentation, and data acquisition techniques Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) Must be able to dedicate 6 MONTHS for this engagement. Experience with basic programming best practices (e.g., readable, re-usable code) using Python or Matlab. Familiarity with electric vehicle thermal management concepts, including battery thermal management, powertrain cooling, and cabin climate control. Knowledge of control systems fundamentals as applied to thermal management. Hands-on experience supporting bench testing or laboratory experiments, including setting up test rigs and collecting data. Familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA V6.
Responsibilities
