At HMH, our Subcontracting Purchasers play a key role for the company towards some of the most business-critical, strategic, external manufacturing partners. You will be working closely with our engineering department and internal customers, project managers, to exceed customers’ expectations. You will represent HMH externally and act as a trusted commercial partner internally, contributing to safe, efficient and innovative project execution. As a Subcontracting Purchaser, you will be working closely with strategic external manufacturing partners. In this role, you will collaborate across various parts of the business to ensure that deliveries meet expectations on cost, quality, schedule and logistics. You will also: Placing of and operational ownership of Purchase Orders Negotiate quotations, commercial terms and conditions with suppliers Establish and follow up purchase orders and delivery plans Coordinate technical clarifications between engineering and external manufacturing partners Contribute to effective collaboration across projects and suppliers Place purchase orders Support in establishment of project – delivery plans Coordinate test activities, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) Who are we looking for? Material planning and strong support from other sourcing colleagues is vital to their success. We therefore expect all purchasers to have a strong business mindset and negotiating skills. Contractual business law understanding to minimize risk is also crucial. We think that you have education within procurement/supply chain/finance etc., but please do let us know in your application how your formal background makes you a strong candidate.
