The SME 4 Position is responsible for providing technical oversight of various research projects involving modular power units which will eventually reside in various habitats for the Moon and Mars where different sources of power types are not feasible.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years of experience
Come break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.

The SME 4 is responsible for leading projects and serve as the main interface with the customer who are technical POCs for this effort. They are responsible for reviewing testing specifications, determining specific equipment requirements, and ensuring that data can be captured and analyzed post testing.
Serves as a technology expert on delivering technological or business requirements which will align with NASA, GRC and Code L directives. This position (s) work directly with the Glenn Research Center Research and Engineering Directorate (Code L) to consult on technology and options and alternatives which will align with Code L objectives.
Provides proactive strategic planning and management of the implementation and advancement of technologies supporting end user requirements. Systems engineering and architecture support.
Provides leadership, for the task, over a technical or business product, customer relationship, major service/project, project & strategic planning, resource execution, risk management coordination, and/or administrative function.
