Description
Description The Mission Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Part-Time Strategic Consultant provides specialized advisory support to program leadership and government stakeholders by delivering deep domain expertise aligned with contract mission objectives. This role operates in a part-time consulting capacity, providing targeted guidance, technical insight, and strategic recommendations to support program execution and mission success. The SME collaborates with program managers, technical leads, and government representatives to evaluate program activities, review technical approaches, and recommend improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery. Leveraging extensive experience in federal environments, the SME assists in interpreting government requirements, advising on technical or operational challenges, and identifying opportunities to implement best practices or innovative solutions. The SME may participate in program reviews, technical discussions, architecture assessments, and strategic planning sessions to help ensure that solutions align with mission objectives, applicable policies, and industry standards. The role may also include reviewing technical documentation, providing expert recommendations on complex issues, and supporting program leadership with specialized expertise when needed. This position functions strictly as a consulting and advisory role, providing on-demand subject matter expertise for defined support hours rather than serving in a full-time operational capacity. Demonstrated experience supporting Federal Government or Department of Defense programs in a technical, operational, or advisory role. Proven ability to provide strategic advisory services and subject matter expertise to program leadership and government stakeholders. Experience reviewing or advising on technical architectures, enterprise systems, operational processes, or program strategies within complex environments. Strong understanding of federal regulations, policies, and industry best practices relevant to the program area. Ability to analyze complex technical or operational issues and provide practical recommendations to improve mission outcomes. Experience participating in technical reviews, program assessments, and strategic planning activities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant professional certifications or specialized credentials aligned with the contract’s technical focus are preferred. Ability to obtain or maintain any required security clearance, if applicable.
