Description

Description:
Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional with current expertise in U.S. Navy submarine operations, systems/equipment, and their associated training needs. We’re looking for someone who aspires to make significant contributions and grow in a team dedicated to creating and delivering training products for the operational needs of the Submarine Force and other navy communities.
What You Will Be Doing:
You’ll apply your submarine expertise and fleet experience in non-nuclear submarine systems and the employment of those systems to create training products we design, develop, and deliver to address our customers’ training or performance gaps. You’ll be an integral member of a project team working with graphic artists, software programmers, and project managers to produce interactive training products.
As a training developer, you’ll be assigned tasks including: assisting in defining training requirements, storyboarding Navy courses, and reviewing the accuracy of instructional and multi-media content that we develop. During storyboarding, you’ll be responsible for designing engaging content, identifying relevant and current media images, and incorporating innovative approaches to learning. The production team will rely on you to access, navigate, and interpret information contained in Government-furnished technical manuals and information systems, as needed by each project. You will also assist with media gathering, team coordination, and workflow.
We value partners who maintain a fresh, imaginative, and constructive outlook on their contributions to the success of our project teams and our company, as well as on our customers’ mission success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior active duty service on a U.S. Navy submarine, related submarine training organization, or developing submarine training content.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to convey complex technical information in concise and easy to understand language.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance.*

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Broad experience with a variety of submarine operations, particularly control room activities such as Sonar, Fire Control, Ship Control, Navigation and Tactics.
  • Prior service as a Navy training project manager, instructor, or course supervisor.
  • Experience with Submarine On-Board Training (SOBT) or Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) products and training development processes.
  • Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.*
  • Obtaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves a comprehensive background check. Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
Sonalysts, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status as a protected veteran, disability, or other basis protected by law.
This job is not available to residents of New York City because of local law restrictions there.
