Description:

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing financial projects, ensuring that they are contributing to the drawing up of budgets or financial inititiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management and project leadership, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.

EXPERIENCE

  • Professional qualification (CCAB) in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, ACCA) or exceptional finalist with strong first degree and professional examination results.
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience and an in-depth specialist knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Current / recent experience in a finance environment.
  • Knowledge of designing and working with spreadsheets.
  • Broad understanding of budgetary control processes and budget setting / financial planning.
  • Broad understanding of financial accounting and control issues.
  • Understanding of financial information systems and the ability to extract relevant information.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate the results of such analysis.
  • Experience of Financial project management, modelling and appraisal.
  • Working to tight deadlines whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on delivering results under pressure.
  • Familiarity with cost control methodologies and best practices within the finance sector.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across various departments.

Responsibilities:

  • To be the financial leader for the UHS Subsidiary companies’ projects
  • To lead on the delivery and development of financial modelling, long term strategic planning and delivery of projects.
  • To take responsibility for providing comprehensive and proactive financial management information to project groups.
  • To work with the Subsidiary companies’ project teams to establish and maintain a sound financial base with robust controls and effective cost improvement plans.
  • Be the expert in providing specialist financial advice for subsidiary projects as identified by the Head of Subsidiary Finance.
  • To work with the Head of Subsidiary Finance to support the making of decisions based on interpreting specialist advice, guidance, complex rules (e.g. VAT) and their impact on different business models.
  • Be responsible for and project manage the financial service developments and their implementation, across subsidiaries which are complex, of high value, with multi-interdependencies with other projects, services or organisations.
