New Choices Recovery Center through its caring responsive staff, provides innovative and comprehensive addiction treatment services that enhance the quality of life for the individuals and the community we serve.
The Substance Abuse Prevention Director is responsible for the effective delivery of community and school prevention programs in Schenectady County. The director is responsible for the annual work plan development and delivery, for staff training and supervision and for serving as the liaison between the prevention program and the community, the agency and NYS OASAS.
Education Requirements:
MA/MS in human services or education preferred; BA/BS or associate’s degree or equivalent. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in human services is preferred. Experience working with community agencies and/or schools.
Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) or Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS) Certification
Experience:
The Substance Abuse Prevention Director will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in human services is preferred. Experience working with community agencies and/or schools.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
2) Ability to train, support and supervise school and community-based prevention coordinators.
3) Provide effective delivery of community and school prevention programs in Schenectady County.
4) Delivering annual work plan development and delivery.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
