Description:

At HMP Lowdham we provide a fully integrated healthcare service, delivering care to offenders and individuals on remand that is equivalent to that in the community.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team of recovery workers to offer a range of therapeutic interventions to those individuals with substance misuse issues.
We would like you to be part of the Offender Health Team. We welcome candidates with lived Substance Misuse experience.
To provide effective therapeutic substance misuse recovery services at HMP Lowdham.
To work within a multi-disciplinary team in a prison setting, you will be required to offer care to patients with complex substance misuse problems, from the point of entry into the prison system to re-entry into the community so that re-offending is reduced and the health and social functioning of prisoners is improved.

You will be expected to deliver high quality and compassionate care through appropriate assessment, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions for men with substance misuse problems working to both harm reduction and health promotion / recovery agenda.
To maintain professional standards, ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality care
You should have knowledge of substance misuse and evidence based, psycho-social interventions to include harm reduction, relapse prevention
It will be important to enable and empower men to take positive steps towards improving their health and wellbeing by developing strategies to manage their substance misuse issues.
You will work as part of a team of recovery workers to deliver a programme of therapeutic interventions.
You should have previous experience of working effectively within an MDT/interagency team and be able to communicate effectively with others.
It is essential that you have the skills to respond appropriately to service users who present with challenging and complex behaviours and be able to offer support in a crisis situation and have experience of working with patients who self-harm.
You will need to ensure that you update mandatory training requirements are met and to have a proactive approach to self-development, working to maintain your own personal and professional development plan, appraise your own performance and discuss development needs with mentors, supervisors and line manager. You will be expected to act as a positive role model.
Participate in and offer regular clinical and managerial supervision
