We’re working with a respected charity partner to recruit an Experienced Social Worker for a 30-hour per week fixed-term position within a specialist service based in South East London. This is an opportunity to join a team delivering targeted support to individuals with multiple and complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health challenges, safeguarding concerns, and social care involvement.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • Strong safeguarding experience (across adults and/or children’s services)
  • Proven experience working with complex and high-risk caseloads
  • Knowledge of substance misuse, mental health, and domestic abuse
  • Confident in delivering supervision, coaching, or training
  • Collaborative, reflective, and strong on communication
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a senior practitioner in the team, you will support the management of complex cases and provide specialist input on safeguarding, domestic abuse, self-neglect, and multi-agency coordination. You’ll also mentor and develop team members, contribute to reflective practice, and support service development initiatives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hold a small, focused caseload of service users with complex needs
  • Provide specialist advice on risk, safeguarding (adults and children), and multi-agency liaison
  • Deliver workshops, learning sessions, and reflective supervision for team members
  • Develop strong partnerships with local social care and statutory agencies
  • Contribute to training and support for student social workers and those completing their ASYE
  • Maintain high standards in case recording, reporting, and information sharing
