POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are recruiting for a Substance Survey Specialist to conduct hazardous materials surveys and sampling activities. This is a highly independent, field-facing role requiring experience with asbestos, mold, and lead-based materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct HAZMAT surveys (asbestos, lead, mold) following O.Reg. 278/05, 490/09, etc.
- Sample collection and documentation with full QA/QC protocol adherence.
- Coordinate lab submissions and ensure timely reporting.
- Prepare detailed technical reports with findings and recommendations.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain and calibrate sampling/safety equipment.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in hazardous building material surveys.
- Knowledge of federal/provincial HAZMAT regulations and survey protocols.
- Certifications preferred: NIOSH 582, EPA/HUD, AHERA (asbestos/lead).
- Strong written and verbal skills; able to write standalone technical reports.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within Ontario.
- Comfortable working independently in field.
