POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are recruiting for a Substance Survey Specialist to conduct hazardous materials surveys and sampling activities. This is a highly independent, field-facing role requiring experience with asbestos, mold, and lead-based materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct HAZMAT surveys (asbestos, lead, mold) following O.Reg. 278/05, 490/09, etc.
  • Sample collection and documentation with full QA/QC protocol adherence.
  • Coordinate lab submissions and ensure timely reporting.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain and calibrate sampling/safety equipment.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in hazardous building material surveys.
  • Knowledge of federal/provincial HAZMAT regulations and survey protocols.
  • Certifications preferred: NIOSH 582, EPA/HUD, AHERA (asbestos/lead).
  • Strong written and verbal skills; able to write standalone technical reports.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within Ontario.
  • Comfortable working independently in field.
